Tom Cederqvist

Tom founded C&J Architects Ltd. together with Vesa Jäntti in 2004. Before that he worked for seven years at Helin & Co Architects participating in designing projects such as the Nokia World Headquarters, the extension of the Finnish Parliament and the general plan of the Fornebu area in Oslo. |

He has won prizes in several architectural competitions both personally and as team-member, the latest two being 2nd prize from Koivusaari international ideas competition (Finland) in February 2009 and an honorary mention from Ängelholm Bath-house competition (Sweden) in March 2009.
Recent projects include Econia sustainable office park with solar facades 34 000 m2 Finland; Henna Green City Plan 1 700 000 m2 Finland; Helsinki Culture Tent 3200 m2 Finland; Kavaljeeri Apartment Housing 5 200 m2 Finland; Vuosaari service center office 3 500 m2 Finland; Asemamies office renovation & extension 15 000 m2 Finland; Vineeri urban renewal 40 000 m2 Estonia; Borispol hotel and offices 40 000 m2 Ukraine; Gulbinai Garden City plan 148 000 m2 Lithuania; Beloostrov residential area 16 000 m2 Russia; And some high end private villas in the Finnish Archipelago.
Tom gained his Masters Degree from the Technical University of Helsinki in 2001. He has been lecturing about architecture and virtual BIM concepts at various conventions and institutes in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, United Kingdom, Hungary, Singapore and Malta.

Before his current role, Jafar M. Khair was Planning Manager at Al Habtoor Engineering Enterprises, and has worked in senior roles at Saudi Bin Laden Group, Dubai Municipality, Jordanian Ministry of Public Works and Housing.
Jafar received a M. Sc. In Civil Engineering from both the Rostov Civil Engineering Institute based in Russia, and the University of Jordan. He completed the Project Analysis Development Program Certificate in 1994. Paul Hewitt
CEO, International Project Estimating
Paul Hewitt has over 30 years experience in construction cost estimating, project controls and project management on major international heavy civil, design build and finance infrastructure projects. He is currently principal of International Project Estimating Limited, with offices in Toronto Canada, Dubai UAE and Cairo Egypt.

His responsibilities including preparing detailed hard money cost estimates, design development budgets and joint venture bid reconciliations, for major international construction firms, engineering firms and government organizations. In addition, Paul Hewitt was the originator of The Chief Estimator Software, and is still involved with regular upgrades and improvements to the construction cost estimating system.
Prior to founding International Project Estimating Limited, Paul Hewitt was Vice President and Chief Estimator for Aecon Construction and Vice President International Operations for Matthews Group in Toronto Canada. Paul Hewitt’ international construction estimating experience includes projects in Tunisia, Pakistan, Turkey, Nepal, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Iceland, Chile, Ecuador, Guatemala, United States and Canada. From 1991 to 1995, Paul Hewitt was managing director of Mahindra Matthews Construction and director of International Comptech Services in Mumbai India.
Paul Hewitt has a B.Sc, in Civil Engineering and an M.Sc. in Structural Engineering from Queen’s University in Canada. Paul Hewitt is a member of the Association for the Advancement of Cost Engineering and the Association of Professional Estimators.

From here Jim McCartney has held various sales management roles and led the Building Construction Division Global Applications team developing field implementation strategies and training protocols. Ewen graduated from the University of British Columbia in 1990, beginning his full time business career with Dowco Consultants Ltd soon after. Over the past 19 years he has managed both the technology and software sales divisions, and the 3D modeling & detailing services business. Dowco being North America’s first Tekla Structures user and Reseller, he was instrumental in the development of North America’s 3D Modeling and emerging Building Information Modeling market.
Currently, as President, Chief Operating Officer, Business Strategist and Co-owner, Ewen is responsible for the global expansion of the Dowco Group’s business interests. David’s experience has been gained across a wide variety of industries with specific focus on integration and interoperability of construction processes since 2005.
In the past year, David has written and presented papers on sustainable construction, integrating ‘green’ technologies and MRP in the construction process.
David is currently working with buildingSMART ME to establish standards for interoperability in the Middle East and North Africa region.
